yeah, I called that place, it is gonna be like $800 for everything (was hoping to get off cheaper than that), even some used ones off a wreck that were in good condition. Cannot replace cartridges on the front so I need the whole thing, need to get rid of my KYB's also, they may work well somewhere but not in NY.

Well, there are cartridges available for the front.

Did you replace front bearings and all?

SR Specials are stiff at first, but much better after 5K miles. Did you replace springs also?

Your old struts must have been beyond worn then.

Most change out springs also. But the ride is firm until break in at about 5K, and with Eibachs, I woiuld say it is about M5 stiff. Control is greatly enhanced.

I actually have eibach lowering springs that I got from someone on here (sorry but I forget who) but to put those on would be murder right now, will the car sit lower after they break in a bit cause it looks kind of goofy right now?

Probably not as the struts will still be mostly charged.

Eibachs will break in the rebound rate sooner. You should have tried them. A little sudden until about 5K. I much prefer my (hers, really) broken in ride now. Not totally lux, but so much more in control, and it matches the stiffer roll rate of the FGY33 better.

You just need to get used to the new ride. You should check your end-links to make sure those are not worn out. The KYB SR Specials are awesome IMHO. I have those on my 97' and love them.

well I am pretty much stuck with them so if they soften up a bit I guess I can live with it.

Jeff, how many miles on your Q and have you been plagued with the bucking and hesitation problem (feels like a 4 cylinder)?

I'll take them off your hands, shoot me a shipped price to 92544 SoCal and we'll go from there - I need a set of stiffer struts to control my UAS setup ASAP.

Sorry for the long wait for a reply. I have 90k on the car, did them at 80k. I also run the lowering springs but for sure they will soften up a little.

I have no issues with bucking or feeling like a 5 cylinder. Sounds like knock sensors or clogged up injectors or both. If you have not done a full 60k service and flushed everything you should. The car still runs a strong as the day I got it (in 2000 with 43k on it).

Good luck, you will grow to like the SR Specials, they are very good.
