Need Stereo help

I need some quick help from the audio peeps in here. My question is....

Can I run my stock or upgraded speakers off of the head unit AND run subs and tweeters off of an amp plugged into the HU with RCA's. I was just going to test it out, but I dont want to wire up my amp, only to not have it work.

Basically I just want to run tweeters and subs on my amp. I dont really want to run the door and rear speakers on the amp. Although I may change that. I may run the tweeters and front speakers off of the HU and run the rear speakers and subs on thamp. Will this work or no???

yes you can do that...

that is exactly what I am doing right now... I ran my front and back speakers off the HU and the only thing I have pluged into the amp are my subs

If you're using an aftermarket head unit you can pretty much do what you want. What you described works.

Cool thanks. What is funny is, I installed my HU, I installed my amp on my Altima, but never knew the answer to that. Thanks a bunch

unless you want a huge bangin system... you don't really need an amp to power your speakers as long as you have about 50x4watts in your HU.. you will be absolutely fine...

Not banging at all. I have 6 x 9 in the back right now, but those are getting tossed when I get a sub. So I may run the tweeters and front speakers on the HU and run just the subs in the back. I dont know. I am waiting until I do my SR swap before I get into the whole amp wiring thing. It would probably take me less than an hour to do it, but engine comes first and I am lazy too..LOL and I wont be buying any subs anytime soon. Need money for FMIC
