Ok here's the deal, I have a 1995 240 with a KA and an AT slushbox, I know my starter is dead and I am trying to get the old one out. I have one of the bolts out but can't for the life of me find the second bolt. I've looked at the FM and it looks like it's on the opposite side of the one I took out. I felt all around the starter and can't find it. I didn't drop my transmission cause in the one of the posts in the search it said you didnt really need to. Am I going to have to drop it to get to the second bolt or can I just get to it with a 1/4"socket or will I need to use an open ended wrench. I spent an hour trying to find the second bolt and can't find it for the life of me. If anyone has replaced their starter recently I could really use the help in find it. Also once I get the second bolt out will I need to beat on the old starter to get it loose or should it just come out. oh and how do I disconnect the wiring harness to it, the FM shows that its a clip but I can't seem to find that either.

You shouldnt need to beat anything loose, it should just come/fall out. The clip to it (assuming its like a CA's), you'll get good vision of it once you have it loose.

use alot of extensions and uniwiggles is my best advice. Feel with your hand on the trans where the starter bulges on the bellhousing. If you got the outer one out there should be one a few inchs away.
