Need spring compressor?..

I gotta buddy of mine who says he can install my lowering springs on for me but doesnt has a spring compressor but he says that he doesnt need a compressor to get these bad boys installed...is it true?

If your friend has a ton of brute strength, he could probably install the fronts... I've seen people manually compress springs on McPherson struts before, but it was a pain. The rear springs are not on struts, so you can't get the leverage necessary on them to get them out... they HAVE to come out with spring compressors.

Besides, trying to remove springs without compressors is EXTREMELY dangerous, as the spring will have a tendancy to... unload unexpectedly. This will cause the spring to shoot off in a more or less random direction... And with the weight of these springs and amount of force they are loaded with, it could cause SERIOUS injury.

Go to your local auto parts store. Usually you can rent a set of spring compressors, often for free.

i had a $45.99 deposit when i rented it, but do it without the correct tools.
