I got a new MAFS today and my car still acts very sluggish when it warms up (to make a long sotry short). But when I unplug the wire that connects to the MAFS I notice on the female connector there is a metal insert that is not there. Can someone confirm that maybe this is suppose to be like this or not? If it isn't, I have a good feeling thats whats causing problems with my car. I have a 93' 240sx.

didn't check my wire at all today, cuz im lazy and drinking was a better idea. but i finally cleaned my mafs the other day. all i used was some electrical cleaner or somethin, forget what it was called, and sprayed it in the little holes and it cleaned it up

then used a qtip and cleaned the 2 'sensor' thingys in the black box. just get the 2 screws and take the top off.

it really pisses me off that i waited so long to do this, because now my car runs perfect. no hesitation at all and no idle problems. the hesitation has been around for a few months, but i never cleaned it.

since it isnt brand new, try cleaning it, and maybe that'll help

yeah, mine only has 3 plugs on the female side. there are only 3 wires going to the mafs anyway, ground, +12, and signal.

try cleaning it like nitrus said, it might help
