Im in the middle of a sr20det swap into a mg midget. Im running into problems where the turbo is concerned. Im new to the world of turbos and could use a little help. Ive been searching for a few days and just cant find the right info/wrap my head around it. Heres whats going on. I had to top mount the turbo for clearance issues. I was going to just run the stock t25 because im not to concerend with big power (the car only weighs 1600 pounds.) Top mounts only come with the t3 flange. Picked up an adapter and now the turbo sits too high and hits the hood. I need to ditch the adapter and run a t3. So my question is what is a good t3 turbo to use? I can find tons of info on what turbos to use for 300+hp but im wanting to stay under 300.

Grab a T3 out of a SAAB 900, usually marked with a TB0382 model on the name plate. It should maybe make 250WHP at about 10PSI, but I would keep it closer to 7PSI (you might get close to maxing out the injectors).

thanks! Ill look around and see if I can locate one. Got any recommendations on what trim/size garret I would be looking at if I went the "new" route.

Pretty much anything on the lower end should be good, the SAAB T3 is a 50 trim .48AR, shouldn't be too hard to find something close to that...

ATPTurbo.com has a 60 trim .48AR turbo that's listed as a "250HP" turbo, that would be ideal I think.
