need some tips

never done a water pump before. just wondering if anyone has a couple of tips to make the whole process go faster and maybe something im missing that ill need. i gots my sockets the new pump the gasket the studs and my somewhat useless brain. looking up a how to with the search button now. im not looking for a step by step from u guys at all just some pointers.

yeah I've never had sex with a water pump either... good luck though.

New belts, good coolant and distilled water, redline water wetter, and bleed the system properly, do a t-stat too

Yeah, if you're gonna replace the water pump, I'd replace the t-stat as well, because there's no tellin' how long it's been since it's been changed, if at all. If belts are worn and are slick, replace them, no use in putting on old belts that are going to fail on you. Bleed the system if needed, which is most likely going to be needed. Seeing as it's cold as all get out outside use antifreeze, NOT water. That's just asking for trouble right there. -.- It's a real easy process to do man, just takes a little bit of your time.
