Ok some answers please regarding clearance/tire application/offset choices.

First off, the car; its an s14 SE.

Second; the wheels are 17"x8" fno1rc +35mm offset (front). Not worried about these. 17"x10" fno1rc +??mm offset in rear. The straight answer I want is this; will a +35mm offset on the 10" wide wheel sit them pretty flush to the rear fender (which will be rolled)?

Third; Clearance issues. I just have springs/struts. Will the +35mm offset in the rear w/ the 10" wheel clear the strut?

Fourth and last, tire sizes. I'm running a 235 up front, 275 in the rear. As for the series of the wall. On the front I thought about 235/45's and on the rear 275/40's. I know the tire diameter for 275/40/17 is 25.7” and the diameter for 235/45/17 is 25.3"...this is a pretty damn close wall size. It will look even, and if not it will look ok because the rear is what will be a *tad* bit larger, right?

Thanks fellas.

the 2 inch stagger will be interesting, as you see youd have like a 40mm stagger

if youre worried about understeer that needs to be cut in half

also the 17x10 +35 will stick out quite a bit farther from the 17x8 +35, so it might look funny

if youre still set on those widths though, yes, those widths and tire sizes should work

So what do you suggest? I'd really like the 10's, but if it will look that funny then I dunno. Basically I understand that the rears will stick out further than the fronts, but what can I do about it?

front: 17x9 +35 with 245/40Thats 24.7" OD vs 24.9" stock, but slightly shorter than the 275/40 in the rear. And the rears would only stick out an inch more than the fronts.

I guess you could do 235/45 on the front if you really wanted to.

So, personally do you think having the rears stick out an inch would look *funny*? If it does I can always run a spall spacer up front...

I think it would look fine.

I just read this thread.zerothread?id=166545

At the end of page 1, McRussell says 17x9 +35 wont fit on the front. Hopefully Chris (nismofly) can clarify.

I'm trying to remember pics of x9 +35F and x10 +35R. I dont think it would look BAD. But camber can affect how the wheels sit too. Assuming the fronts can fit, it sounds like a good setup to me.

FYI, there is a 17x9 +15, but I'm 99% sure that requires some fender work.

You won't remember pics of it since it won't fit.

9 gets a +20 minimum or it won't clear the shock. I've seen +25 work a few times on Shock/Spring and then some coilovers need +15s to clear.

yeah youd have to run 17x9 +15 front, its the only 5 lug front that would fit, unless you got the x9 +35 with a spacer, but at that point you might as well just get the correct fitting wheel to start

yes it will require fender work, but so will running the x10 in the rear, so youre just going to be working on front and rear fenders instead of just the rear

Where'd all the 17x9 talk come from? I'm running 17x8's in the front....

Ok, so I think basically I get "it would look ok" from everyone, is that about right?

well the reason were saying 9's in the front, i dont have pictures of a x10 +35 rear on the s14, but it will need fender work to fit and sit way farther out than the x8 +35 front, in other words the way the wheels look will differ greatly from your fronts right now

ill see if i can find pictures of what a x10 +35 rear looks like

plus like i said, the x8 front x10 rear will produce quite a bit of understeer, if you dont mind this then it wont be a problem

is there any reason you really want the x10 in the rear, or would you be ok with a x9 +35, because that would work better, you could run a 235 / 255 tire stagger

heres a x8 +25 front and x9 +35 rear

I wanted 10's because of the sick spoke design; my car has looks going for it right now and I think those would be amazing. But if it'll look that goofy then, I guess its back to the drawing board.

Understeer isn't a big deal, these wheels are for show purpose only. And big smokey tire scenes
