need some rb25 info

Hi I searched and can not find any info. So I bought a bare block rb25det and I was told it is a series 2 block but how do I confirm that without the cylinder head etc. I am assuming that the blocks are the same but I am not 100% sure.
Btw if any of you have parts let me know.
