Need some paint number info

Is there a way to tell via the VIN or is there someone onboard that can run my VIN number and tell me what the colors, both paint and interior are exactly. Reason I ask, my car should be here today (2001 infiniti I30) and it should be medium green with grey leather. Now I purchased a GM in the past and when I went to pick it up, it was not gold and tan as advertised, but green on green, which took some arguing over, but we verified it after running the VIN through a GM person.

You actually had to fight the dealer to give you the car as advertised? Wow...

I don't think you have to worry about having that problem twice. I'm not aware of any capability of anyone but Nissan to check your paint or interior colors by VIN number.

If the car that's delivered isn't the car you agreed to buy and the dealer tries to fight you on the sale, I say it's time to find a new dealer.

Long story stort.. I bought through an auction a gold with tan leather Cadi. When I went to pick the car up, something didn't look right. The color turned out to be a frost green, almost one of those camellian (sp?) colors and the interior was just as faint, looking tan/grey/green, depending on the light. The dealer was a Nissan shop, so they called a buddy at a Cado dealer, ran the numbers and found my suspected green eyes were right. They of course refunded all money paid.

The exterior paint code is on the data tag on the passenger side of the fire wall.
