So I drove my car into a very large puddle, my car stalled half way into the puddle. As far as I've been able to see the only thing I've been able to find wrong it that their is water in the back (closest to the firewall) cylinders have water in them. So I'm wondering if I should try to just get the water out while the engine is still in the car, should I take the engine out and dry everything out, should I do an engine rebuilt and if so should I try to get a tt conversion or jus swap the whole engine for a tt engine. Any help, opinions, or even some1 who could just come by and check things out would be very appriciated, and if any1 does decide to come by I would mind giving some compensation as long as your not asking for something rediculous. Ty.

If there's water in the cylinders, you could have some very serious problems ahead of you...

Can't tell you exactly what to do, but I'd start thinking about a new motor.

If there is water in your cylinders you probably did a lot of damage...it's a problem usually referred to as hydrolock. How much water is inside those cylinders; can you see it through the spark plug holes or what?

I have a buddy who took his little ford ranger muddin' and got into some water, and he hydrolocked his engine. He took the heads and the block out and realized he had sent a piston rod THROUGH a cylinder wall

Liquid doesn't compress, so when your piston went up to compress what should have been air and fuel, it tried to compress water and it stalled because it simply couldn't squeeze that water. This stops everything inside your engine. If that piston can't move up the crankshaft can't spin any more. The energy of your suddenly locked up crankshaft has to transfer to something, and it usually ends up in a bent rod.

Either way, I wouldn't try to start it any more until that engine is taken apart, inspected, and rebuilt if repairable. You will just do more damage.

Sorry to give you bad news.

Silver lining = perfect excuse for a TT swap

Did the engine stall or run rough before dying? Or, did it just stop running? If it ran like crap for a bit, you may be ok. Hydrolock doesn't take much water and as said above can do some serious damage. Usually on the VG30, it will bend a rod. But, could be worse, may not be a problem at all.

I would pull the plugs to start, and see if you can get the water out of the cylinder. After you do, then crank the motor by hand. See if you get any significant resistance. You want to pull the plugs to keep from hydrolocking the engine if you haven't already. If it seems fine, then try to crank it with the starter. But, pull your fuel relay first, that way it won't shoot fuel into the cylinders.

If this is too much for you to handle, then have it towed to a Z specialist. Don't have it taken to some average mechanic. Most don't have a clue how to work on these. It isn't you normal Ford, Chevy or Chrysler.

I did do this alrdy I cranked the engine by hand with the spark plugs out and quite a lot of water came out, just yesterday tho I got a lil hand pump and a hose and put the hose down the spark plug hole and pump out any water left in the cylinders problem now is that the crack will turn but only to a certain point, after it won't move unless i turn it counter clockwise where it will keep turning to a certain spot as well. I had a friend tell me to just force it to turn because if it is seized its screwed regardless. Where can I find a specialty Z shop in my area tho?

1 more thing, if I did decide to do a tt swap, how much would I be looking at labor and parts? If you can give me the price of labor and part separate it would be much help, and of course just approximate, just want to make sure I don't get screwed.
