When I got my 04 coupe (used), dealer had just put on Nissan pads.Squeeled like a pig!!!!!!I replaced the fronts with Akebono pro-act and now not a peep!!!! Bought them a carquest. Tirerack carries them too.

So, these are what's going on the 05 sedan when the fronts go.

Well Naz here is my advice.

What I've learned over many years of driving and owning many vehicles is that when you buy cheap you will end up buying twice.

When I was your age I owned one of these execept mine was black and white.

I didn't listen to my dad who told me not to buy it.

Whether its cars, tools, parts never buy cheap.

Yes work at the dealer costs more but the quality of work and the parts used is usually superior to what you find at independent shops.

Having worked at both I can agree. You can also try to get in good deals at the dealer. Most of them are very flexible since they want good customer loyalty.

I got CMAX from Autozone for the wife's 05 Sedan. Replaced the rears first and then started on the fronts. The fronts were not right.Took them back and they told me that CMAX were not available for 05 Sedan fronts.

Oh, and have had no problems with the Akebono's stopping my car. Pedal feels fine too. However, I have no plans to track my car. If you do, you will want another pad.

If you didn't turn the rotors when the pads were replaced you may still continue to have problems?

If they've already been turned you may need to replace them?

Who else but the techs at the dealers who do brake replacements daily for the various Infiniti years and models have the experience to do whats right for your vehicle?

Yes you can take shortcuts to save a few $$ but in the end it may end up costing you both time and $$$$

Telcoman brings up a good point.

You might want to check your rotors with a micrometer before putting the pads on. If this is the first replacement, then you are probably ok. My neighbor has a couple sets so I borrowed his. They are on my list of tools to eventually buy....

I've only used EBC brake pads on all four of the G's I've owned. I used the "Green" on my two 2003's and the 2005 "X". On my 07 G35X, I switched to the EBC "Redstuff" as the 07 has the larger M45 brakes. Interestingly enough, I've never turned the rotors once as I replace the pads at the very first inkling of a wear indicator noise (usually heard when backing up). You have to baby the pads for the first 100 miles, but they are wonderful with no fade and very little dust. Another thing I've noticed, the 2007 does not follow the traditional two sets of front pads to one set of rears. They were pretty close to even at 33k miles.

ive got 27k on my front pads and rotors (changed at the same time)... im just now starting to get a squeak every now and then... but never in reverse... im trying to wait to my 60k service to get my pads replaced... im at 57k miles.

i also dont want the infiniti pads as they produce too much dust... was thinking of going with HAWK HPS... any opinion on those pads?

lol, good!!! I misunderstood! Was thinkiing, damn I need to check the CMAX pads I put on the sedan!!!

BTW, the practically new NISSAN pads I pulled off of the Coupe looked horrible with chunks missing!!! I replaced them cause they were squealing like a pig.

the cheap pads i had may have lasted only 2k miles and had tons and tons of dust but they had the best pedal feel I have ever felt they grabbed at the disks so hard i thought my face was going to come off but i couldent stand the dust i literaly cleaned the rims everyday and then the squeek started i felt like a when pulling up to a red light

I personally used Hawk HPS and they are EXCELLENT pads for the money! Another bonus was little to no brake dust even with aggressive driving habits. They bed in easily if done properly and hold up well to almost anything you can throw at them.
