sure why not, in my case the biggest ticket item will be a tuner. i already have a wideband o2 from an older racecar i had in my garage along with different exhaust tubings. i also know someone that recently sold thier chrysler conquest and has a spare upgraded turbo and intercooler they need to part with. ill have to order some an- line and a plate for oil and the rest is elbow grease. think i mayhave to sneak in a oil pressure gauge and i think i have a boost gauge laying around my shop. hmm

1000 bucks isnt going to get you much. SAFCII-300, Turbo (please dont use that tiny conquest turbo) 600+. theres your 1000 right there. Also you will need a larger fuel pump, a fmu since you want to keep the stock injectors and after all this you are limited to about 300 whp with a safe tune.

I have about 1500 into my setup and used all used parts minus the SAFCII and i made 304whp/310wtq @12 psi. If you need to email me man and we can go into a long talk about what you will need.

U asking me how much for my pipe? Im sure shipping would kill you man but i would sell my feed pipe and downpipe for 350 plus shipping. Then all you would need is the turbo, wastgate, and a cat back.

I have a feeling that the camaro guy is not going to keep the 1000 budget either. My background is RWD muscles cars and he has good base car to start with. The 3.8 that is in his car is a descendant of the Gand National motor. The compression is higher than the GN plants but can lend itself to some boosting yielding a lot of power as a result. (stock ~ 200fwhp, boosted ~ 300 to 350fwhp) One saving grace is that to benefit from the power he will have to make trans mods if it not a 5spd. Food for thought

actually he can keep the budget. unfortunitly he had a gtp just like me a 2001. his camaro is a 2001. he purchased the powertuner program so he can change the pcm with his laptop already. he also has his ported rear manifold, crossover pipe and plog plus his gtp stock injectors which are bigger then the l36 ones he has now left over from his gtp. so really he just needs to get his hands on a turbo, bov, intercooler and some pipe. im already planning a build when i move next year for a l67 turbo powered 72 nova 5spd. a guy over on clubgp built up one and stuck it in his gn for low 11's on a stock bottom end gtp block.im the one that has to look for some deals
