i just got a 1991 240sx my first car, and i wanted to know what it really is, besides the part that its not that good for drifting

did you search the site for HICAS, or search good for HICAS?
its a rear steering system used by Nissan on a few different models...IIRC its hydraulically controlled and will change the toe of the rear wheels slightly to help the car turn. The amount it steers is dependent on speed, steering angle, and maybe a few other things...
Ive heard some say its helpful but I don't like trying to work together with a computer(specially one as old school as what was made when our cars were in production)

i also heard that hicas comes with lsd or vlsdi dont really know what the v stands for though.

another one of those "Search damn it!" topics zerothread?id=136808please spend some time search around when you have questions..It may not come up as the first result, or even the first search but like everything else if you wanna learn you have to put some effort into it...In short it stands for Viscous limited slip, where the axels are locked together via a silicone cupling that heats up and hardens when the axels spin at different speeds....
