Hey guys,

I own a '91 240SX and am planning on swaping in a VG30ET with a 5spd. I would like to make around 325-340hp at the wheels what should I plan on spending and what is the best route for realizing my HP goals? I am planning on using a Porsche 944 intercooler and a stand alone fuel management system, I am not sure what brand yet, as I have not fully researched that area. Any and all genuine help is most appreciated.

Your biggest hurdle is going to be getting the motor in there, but if you have the fabrication skills, great! I've seen the VG30E in there, but never an ET - might have to chop the firewall a hair?Anyway, I think the standalone is overkill. You can probably hit those hp goals with fuel pump, adjustable fpr, and maybe supplementary injectors (like the SDS EIC).You might consider using a VG30E motor and converting it to turbo, leaving you with 9:1 compression - this will limit the amount of boost you can run (unless you DO go standalone + injectors), but you will be able to hit your #s easier. In other words, you can probably easly reach you goal, but you might put a ceiling on it.It's going to be easier to achieve your #s w/ a T3/T4 hybrid - most people opt for the T3/T04E 60 trim i think - check out Z31 for more info. It's doable, but most VG folks steer clear of this forum - Z31.com is going to be your most powerful resource regarding the motor, and probably the 240SX technical/general for getting the actual motor into the car.Good luck!
