Hello...would like some feedback on my problemI have Tein HE's coilovers and looking to buy some new wheels for my ride. As of right now I have FN's 17x8 +25 in the front and trying to figure out the offset for my next wheels will work 17x9.5 +17, but in doing so I noticed that the clearance between the right and left is different.

The left side has clearance but the right side will barely/maybe clear the new wheels. Looking at the coilover's height....the left side is about an inch threaded down on the thing that bolts to the Spindle(?...don't know what its called...lol) and the right side is about 1/4in threaded down. Measuring from the ground to the fender is 25 1/4in on both sides.

The problem that I'm facing is that the right side...the new wheels may not clear the spring perch, where the left side is just below the spring perch and will clear. I will be stretching the tire on these wheels so I don't think I'll have any problems with clearing the tire. But I am worried about the right side.

What I'm confused about is....if the left side is threaded down about an inch and the right is threaded down only 1/4 of an inch....shouldn't the left side spring perch be lower than the right side...?!! Some where along this week I'll measure the distance between the camber plate and spring perch, once it gets a bit cooler.

What I can do is adjust the preload on the springs (as of right now 0 preload) to make it clear the new wheels. But only want to do this as a last resort....

Any ideas why it is different in height from left to right....? Maybe something is bent that is causing this? Is this common? But 3/4's of an inch difference is alot no?

Any input will be appreciated....

Thank you

Nope they are not double height adjustable...

1 - for lowering the car

2 - for pre-loading the springs

thanks anyways tho....

Get some pics.If you mean that the springs have one perch and lock, and the mounting body is also threaded and has its own lock, then they are double height adjustable. If however the body is not threaded, and there is only one adjustable perch, then they are single adjustable.

Okay my bad...its like how you say. I didn't know that's what you call it, i thought for the springs was to pre-load them, not to also adjust the height...

But coming this weekend going to take measurements and compare the 2 front coilovers. Hopefully i'll get my digital camera back and take some pics...

Dont be surprised to find some variance from one side to the other. My driver side tends to sit lower than the passenger side. So when I first began messing with ride height, the driver side coils are about 3 threads higher than the passenger side to sit the car level.

Which leads me to my little friend called corner weighting. Any car with coilovers installed SHOULD have this done.
