ok on my old car i had a crappy little bazooka amp and i got 2 12"kenwoods for christmas and once i hooked them in my amp would go into safety mode after 15 minutes.i figured it not enough power so it was shutting off,and i just got a crunch powerzone 1800.4 amp and i have the subs bridged, and its still doing it,and i have a new car that was prewired for the amp.anyone know the problem?maybe im not bridgeing it right?i can take pics of how its hooked up if needed.

Are the subs wired in series or parallel? What is the Ohm rating of the speakers?

When you say 4Ohms, is that how it's wired, or do the subs say DVC 4Ohm? Because that makes a huge difference.

Also, depending on how it's wired will make a big difference too. The amp is shutting off because (probably) it's seeing too low of an impedance.

Need more info, and a pic/diagram would help too.

If we don't have all the info, you don't get good answers.....

Ok, so each set of + & - are going to each sub?

What model subs do you have?

Your amp is seeing a 2Ohm load. That is sending it into protect mode because it's not made to handle that low of an impedence.

edit: found a pic of your amp

Leave 1 set of +/- where they are, and run the other set to channel 3/4. Bridge them the same way 1/2 are set up and you'll be fine.

Lemme know how it goes.

There are a few things you can check to fix that.

1. Double check the +/- on the subs are going to the +/- on the amp. So it's not + to -2. Make sure channels 1/2 & 3/4 are both set to low pass on the amp's crossover, and that the gain is set to the same level.3. If there is no switch for it on the amp, you might have to split the RCA signal so that it's going to both input channels.

Most likely #3 was the cause of the quietness. That being the case, the quiet sub wasn't getting any input. 2 Y adapters will fix that though.

edit: The MODE switch on your amp set to 2 should do the trick without an adapter.

Well it's sounds alright but not much better than that crappy bazooka amp. The way I had it hooked up before it's sounded great. It hit alot harder but then it would shut off

Are both subs hitting now though?

To check, unplug the negative of one from the amp, and the other should still be going. Do this to each side to be sure.

If, when testing that, you notice one of the subs moves MORE with the other unplugged, then the +/- needs to be reversed on one of them.

So you unplugged them one at a time, and could barely hear either?
