Ok well i've recently started on rebuilding my motor for when i turbo it. ( stil need help on deciding what turbo kit to go with btw) Anyway, so far i've got CP Pistons, Sportsman rods, 264 cams, stage 4 clutch, fidanza lightweight flywheel, lightweight underdrive crank pulley, fel- pro gaskets, calico coated bearings, and i've got it all put back together. I got my block bored and honed and got it shaved a little, so my compression will be about the same as stock, possibly a little higher, but not much. Oh yeah and i got all my stuff balanced too. But as i was saying, i got it all put back together and stuff, besides my head. So i was wondering if you guys think i should do some head work? Like bigger valves and stronger springs...maybe a 3 angle valve job? And another big thing i've been wondering about is an aftermarket Intake manifold? I've seen them before, but can't remember where....so if you guys know where i could purchase one let me know. AND ANY OTHER OPINIONS OR IDEAS WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!!! Thanks guys

Depends on your goals. Drag? Street Car? Road Racing?

If you're running stock Compression Ratio, you'll probably want race gas to get past 370whp.

If you have the head off you might as well get it freshened but there is not a ton to be gained in porting, this head is pretty good stock.

The aftermarket intake manifold (xcessive) has not been proven to provide any power gains, that I know of.(and I'm a forums addict)

Depending on your budget and goals, you will have to make the best compromise.

What are your power goals?

Honestly there is a thread on Nico if search for it that shows that extensive work yo the KA head doesn't show much improvement at least it's not worth the money.

It's mostly just the design thats holding it back.

A simple polish and job should be all you need. As for intake manifolds there is couple out there that are for the DE. One proven one right now is from AMS, it's a lil pricey but never the less a great unit, and fully tested.

I am building this car as a daily driver/ race car on the weekends. Not a full out race car, cause like i said it will be my daily driver, but i'll be takin it to the track and racing it. I want aroung 350-400hp. I'm building my motor with good quality parts, because it is a daily driver and i want it to be very reliable. So i built my motor to be strong for when i turbo it. If there's not too much to gain from head work i'll just leave it alone. Cause it is pricey work, and for not much gain it probably wont be worth it. Can you guys help me decide what kind of turbo kit to go with with the things i've done already? My parts list is above, and i'm lookin for 350-400hp...any help on a good kit would help me alot

oh and why would i need to run race gas with stock compression if i want to reach 370hp?? it's gonna be a daily driver and i'm not gonna wanna run race gas all the time, i want to be able to run 91 or 93.........

What CR are you at? did you remember to take the same amount of material off of the front timing chain covers as you did the block/head? I port matched the intake side of the head and had a 3 angle valve job done (don't forget the re-accomplish valve lash) I used a cometic hg w/ arp studs. I had both the head and block cut--good results--close to 400 WHP and no problems a little over 3k miles so far.

What's your set up consist of exactly? What kind of internals did you use? Can you give me a parts list of everything you've done? NOt sure what my CR is right now, motor is not running. I'm putting it together right now. What kind of HP numbers do you think i'm going to see with everything i've done?

i'm really hoping i can get around 350hp..that would be nice.... so what kind of turbo kit could i get that would get me there? Or is it better/cheaper to buy all the parts seperate and get what i want?
