Dude, you put the pistons in backwards! Pull the rods, flip them around, and put them back in. As you said, the piston skirt is hitting the oil squirter. If you look on the opposite side of the piston, there is a relief for the squirter.
And FYI for everybody, there is almost always some sort of marking on the top of the piston designating which side faces forward. Usually a little dot on one side. This needs to face towards the front of the motor (the water pump end in most cases).
