Ok guys this is my mom's 92 eagle talon tsi awd. About a month ago she was driving it home and the thing started making this terrible, very loud BRRRR noise and had vibration which could be felt in the steering wheel. It does it in all gears (5spd) AND while it's costing in neutral. It stops as soon as the car goes under 10 mph though. Does anybody have any idea at all what this could be?! They really need to get it fixed because my step father just totalled his truck so they're down to 1 vehicle now.

I wouldn't be posting this but I' having trouble with dsmtuners.com, as in they won't authorize my damn account and it's really pissing me off.

matt, the guy that owned "fast and furious motorsports" knows a TON about DSM's and is all about one. he could tell you whats wrong. best thing i could tell you to do is call up nichols or get him on AIM and see if he will talk to anthony for you.

ok. i'm back. talked to my buddy and he said it could be1. a driveshaft bearing aka "carrier" bearings2. wheel bearing (as others have stated)3. waaaay out of balance wheels :D4. broken center differential (highly unlikely though)

hope that helps!

thnx alot for your help guys. So a carrier bearing or a wheel bearing is the most likely culprit? I'm leaning toward wheel bearing because all the carrier bearings were replaced when she got it, but I'll continue to investigate.

Ben, what's chris' AIM handle?

Just to let you know there are technical bulitans and a recall on the talons-I work at a jeep/eagle/chrysler dealership-take your vin number to the dealer and have them check the recall list for your vehicle-they can do htis in a couple of minutes-there is also a recall on the front lower control arms-this one os vital-they may fall lpart without repair-the recall does involve the transfer case

hope this helps!!
