Need Some Help w/2007 M35X Bose Audio System

I was hoping someone out there could answer a question about the Bose Audio System in the 2007 M35X.

I have owned my M35X for about 3 days now & I have noticed that the sound is pretty much awful when in AM/FM/XM Radio mode.

It seems that the majority of the sound is coming from the center channel speaker and not utilizing any of the surround sound capapbility. I have adjusted the sound (front to Rear, Side to Side ETc..) but it does not seem to help. Is there a setting I missed? should I turn off Center Point or Audio Pilot? I know the true 5:1 sound can onlybe achieved with the DVD audio system,, but expected it to still sound decent in regular mode.

Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Turn off CenterPoint - that's supposed to somehow provide each listener in every seat with some kind of surround. I hate the way it sounds. Leave AudioPilot on - that's the active noise cancellation tehcnology that uses the stereo to reduce road and engine noise.

Try a CD or even a DVD-Audio sometime. You won't want to listen to the radio after you hear how good it can sound with the right source material.

I love the 5.1 system. The FM and some XM music sounds terrific in surround. I had to increase the volume of the surround speakers. There is a separate control. Go into "settings". Then into "audio". The last setting is "sourround volume". I hope this helps. It made my system sound fantastic.

Thanks for your input, turning the centerpoint off when using traditional radio makes the sound better.

What kind of gas mileage are you experiencing? I have been averaging about 13.5 MPG HWY/Around Town. The sticker said it was rated at 17 & 24. Just curious if anybody else is experiencing the same thing.

I get 16-17 around town in m35x. Sounds like your foot may be a little heavy ;o).
