Ok everyone here is what I have going and I am a little lost with this so I need some help.The car is a 97 max SE. with about 200k. But ran strong until this. The other day my max started to act up with the tell tell signs of a bad alternator. So I took it to the shop cause its too damn cold for me to get out and do this so the mech told me that it was not the alt it was the ac comp. that had locked up and burnt the belt so they by-passed that and got things working... or so he thinks, again my wife driving and it starts doing the same thing with things pointing to the alt. so I jump it and get it to autozone and have them test the alt and the batt. Battery passed but shows low (no **** right) and then the alt comes back showing a bad diode so I spring for one and take it home and change it out jump it again cause the batt is still too low to crank. drives great things look good so I go home and get ready for class and take it to class so the alt can charge that batt pretty good. and low and behold it starts acting up again!!! So agian I have the tech at advance test the batt and alt. this time the batt is fine again and the alt is not sending charging voltage back to the batt. So I look for a fuse but all that I checked looked good. So I have the guy charge the battery so I can at least get the damn thing home. put the freshly charged battery back in and now I have all elec things coming on inside the car like the dome light and door ajar warning sound but it won't even crank the stater now. What else could this problem be??? I am almost to the point where I am about to offer an award for the first one that points me in the right direction.
