Well I just got back from a good run on the autobahn and felt a slight miss a couple of times. I slowed to about 160 and the car started to miss even more. As I hit my exit the car would barely run missing really bad. I limped the car home and it would barely go over 30kmh without a really bad lurching feel. I was coming down a hill and put the car in neutral and let it coast and it seemed to idle okay and I could rev it pretty good. As I came to the bottom of the hill I put it back in gear when it started to miss really bad again. I finally got the car home but it would no longer idle either. Sounded like it was only running on a couple of cylinders. A friend of mine was behind me and through his headlights I could see smoke. He told me as we came to our exit he saw flames shoot out the exhaust and then black smoke. I only have an Apexi intake, and 3 inch exhaust (turbo back). A friend who was with me in the car said it could be a spark plug problem. I have been wanting to change them but since plugs are about an 80 dollar repair here in Germany for this car I thought I would ask you experts first. PLEASE HELP

no I just got back and it is 12:30am here in Germany. I will check the codes tomorrow but wanted to get some insight from the people who know more and can point me in the right direction.

Thanks Splintercell I will probably have to hit you up for those but want to get the opinions of the CA Gods first.

I can't honestly say for sure how old the timing belt is. I personally have only had the car a couple of months. The car was well taken care of but I doubt the timing belt has been changed. The timing belt didnt' break though. There was no motor noise just really bad sputtering no matter what I did. At times if I held the RPMS at about 1800 then it would be okay it would run pretty smooth. Give it gas and it would jerk and sputter really bad at all RPMs then. I am about to check the ECU codes, plugs and whatever else could be causing my problems.

I suspect that the timing belt jumped a tooth. The only way to tell is to set the motor at TDC on the compression stroke of the 1st piston and then pull the upper and lower timing covers and count the teeth between all of the pullies and make sure all of the timing marks are lined up.

You can DL a copy of the FSM from our stickies and get a step-by-step.

We pulled a 55 on the ecu. We also found a lot of hoses might have been chewed on by this animal here in Germany that like to get up in your engine bay and going crazy on your rubber hoses. We have the car running again but we are going over every hose this week to make sure of anymore holes. I guess the holes weren't that major until the car was under boost and hitting 230kmh. It is running now though.

The car will be going in for a complete belt replacement though just in case .

Anyways since the car is running again but will be going through some maintenance after this little mishap I thought I would post a pic of the new ride before it gets put away for the upcoming tuneup and put away for winter.

Later fellas.

Thanks Bwana I am just glad it wasn't anything serious just needing to replace some hoses and what not but this will be a good opportunity to get the car squared away.

This is posted in the CLASSIFIED too but instead of starting another thread I thought I would just adjust this one.

I have a ca18det (what I was told by my japanese buddy) digital cluster with wiring harness and hud

I am selling it because the German 200sx doesn't have the plug for the swap so I was unable to install it. So now it is up for grabs. Looking to get 125 shipped for the whole setup.

I also have an HKS bov pipe which replaces the stock CA metal pipe.

Looking to get 50 bucks shipped for this.

Also have a Garret 45v1 in great condition. The nipple on the wastegate is a little bent but shouldn't be a problem.

Don't know what to ask for this turbo. It was never used by me but my friend had it checked out for me before he sent it to me and said everything was in within spec. Turbo feels very good when spun by hand. Make me an offer on this thing but please remember this thing is a little heavy and shipping will probably be a little expensive. THANKS

Don't worry I put your rims to good use. The Germans love them because they CAN'T get them. I will have to get some spacers to push them out a little more.

It looks a little better since I dropped the front another inch. I might have to one day hit you up for a pair of 18's though to even it out a little better.
