Ok I have a 89 240sx coupe, basically stock except exhaust and suspension. The car has some issues I cant figure out. First the transmission. It is hard to get the car into gear, at a red light to get into 1st I have to pull it down like going to 2nd and slam it to 1st. Also sometimes when I put it in 1st at a redlight, the car shakes and the RPM's drop. The car will also pull on its own sometimes, like an automatic. Is my clutch going? Transmission fluid? I changed the clutch fluid. Downshifts are easy except going to 4th and 2nd, I have to blip the throttle to about 2.5k or so to get it into gear. Anyway, any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

I guess it could be multiple things. If the fluid hasn't been kept up, starting now isn't going to do anything. I would check the clutch cylenoid and make sure it is moving in and out when you pump the clutch. Other than that i'm guessing the trans is having an issue and will need replacing.

You don't live to far from me.

I am currently in the middle of a ka24de swap. Are you planning on keeping power steering, a/c and such?
