Need some help....

Today I got pulled over driving back from college. Before you start jumping at my throath, No I wasn't speeding... The Officer told me that it is illegal to run your front license plate on top of your dashboard as I have in my S13. (See my web page for pictures.) Anyways, my car doesn't have the license plate mounting bracket and if I have to buy one, I'd rather get one for the 180SX, the one that goes on the left, Japanese Style. Does anyone know where I can buy one of these? I really want to get that one if I really have to get any at all....

Phase2motortrend.com has that cusco unit where you can mount the plate to the side.

But seriously, i never heard of that before. A lot of people run their front plates in the front dash, if it's visible to the cop. It shouldn't be illegal... and i hope he just gave you a fix-it ticket, because that's all that mandates anything more than that and he was being a prick.

No, he didn't give me a ticket. I really think he was just being a prick. I mean, my exhaust by itself is not really that loud, but with the cams and the rest of engine goodies, the car does sound like a helycopter at times. He probably just heard the noise, because he followed me for a while before pulling me over. Then he told me that one of my rear license place lights was dangling (damn screw rot the hole, so now I have to figure out a way to secure the damn thing back), and the cop was asking me if I meant to "obscure the license plates on purpose. Whatever officer, don't you have some doughnuts to eat???
