Searched for these, but couldn't really find anything that helped...

First off, my dash just randomly cracked sometime today. Is there an inexpensive way to fix this? Fill it in or something? Pic of it here...

Also, my door panels need to be replaced, or at least held together better. Can anyone tell me how to get them off? Driver's side has cracks in it and is loose, so I think I may replace it, but the passenger is fine except for the smaller, stapled in section (the one with the lock, handle, window control), which has come off its staples.

My antenna is also broken. From when I got it, the motor would kick in, but the antenna wouldn't retract. Now the antenna itself is snapped, so it needs to be replaced. I have NO idea how to get this off. Do I have to dig through the trunk to get it off?

Passenger side mirror randomly cracked the other day also (God hates me). How do I go about getting the mirror out?

Last thing, and minor: the windshield wiper arms have a bit of wear, is there anything I can do to make them look better besides replacing them?

I just got this 240 this week as my first car, so I'm painfully new to everything. Any help is extremely appreciated!!!

ok about the dash board..youre screwed, there is nothing you can do about it, execpt buy a dashboard cover, or just buy a dash....secondly...about the door panels youre better of getting used ones from the junk yard or somathing. and thirdly you can paint the windshield wipers to make them look new, it is usual wear and tear that makes them look like that!!oh finally welcome to nico!!!!!!!!

Yea, i was afraid I was screwed with the dash. Are they difficult to remove? I'm hitting the junkyard tomorrow anyway to check on several parts, but I still have no idea how to remove these parts. Is there anywhere that would tell me??

the dash is a long *** job to take out too. nissan hid a lot of nuts and bolts all over the place to hold it in.

the mirror is snapped into the motor, so if you can slide something behind it to pry it out, it should come out with little force.

as far as doors go. you're gonna see that crack in most used ones. the plastic used was crap, and the area by the slot for the seatbelt happens to be a weakpoint. what i did was take a piece of plastic and used some epoxy to make glue a brace behind the crack. it's held up for quite some time now.

antenna is easy to pull out. the motor can be a bit of a ***** becuase of the tight confines of the quarter panel interior. I replaced mine with a fuba antenna off of early 2000's volkswagons. you can now get the same antenna with the proper antenna lead off ebay for half the price of what i payed for mine. Or you could just delete it entirely and plug the hole it leaves behind.

and welcome to the vert club!

Soo...the antenna just pulls out? There's no nut or anything keeping it on?

The silver/chrome piece unscrews to remove the antenna.

I got a new mast that I probably need to sell if you know your motor is good. My motor has some of the plastic track stuck in it, so have a new motor w/ mast on order.

Yea...tried taking out the antenna yesterday...what a royal pain in the ***. Got the silver screw off just fine with some needle nose pliers and then took the black plastic cap off, but no matter how much I fiddled with the antenna ad radio, it would NOT budge one bit. Eventually all this tweaking broke the plastic feed in the center of the antenna, so I guess I'm in the same boat as you. Looked in the trunk at where the motor is, and it was crammed WAY too far in there for me to even attempt getting it out, so I guess I gotta send it off to get it done by someone who knows what they're doing.

On the plus side, my FM transmitter for my iPod works GREAT, and the seat covers i boguht are doing good too (though I'm afraid of being considered a bit ricer )

Again...if anyone knows how to install a new passenger side mirror, side panels or dash, PLEASE for all that is holy let me know.

Side mirror should not be hard. There should be a write up somewhere.

But all it would be is to pop the traingle shapped piece of plastic off the inside of the door, undo 3 screws and then reverse the process.

Buy a replacement mast off eBay and the job's fairly easy. Email me if you have any questions - [email protected]
