i hope i don't get flamed too bad...it just that i like the way it looks.

but on to the question: i want to get the 5 zigen fn-01rc 17 by 10in w/ +12 offset on all four'z, but my major concern is the front, will they fit w/o too much modification? i can handle rolling the fender, but is will it clear everything else? and alittle help on tire sizes....

thanks

mike

yea that will fit pretty good. will need a pull/roll and 3ish camber in the front and it will fit perfect, with a 235/40 or so on it. rear you could probably get away with just rolling but it would look cooler if you pulled it and ran a 10mm plate and slammed it. same tire size.

chmercer: thanks for the info...but i'm alittle confused about pull/roll? when someone says rolling the fender, it means by pushing the inner lip upwards, right? what do you mean by pulling the fender? is it the exact opposite of rolling the fender? by bending that lip outwards, instead of upwards?

chunkidori: i was waiting for your reply...thanks! i believe you and i have the same taste...i saw one pics you posted w/ a s14 w/ 10in (simple beautiful..)

now i just need to get rid of my current set up...anybody looking for some bronze fn-01rc wheels?!!!!! anybody... =)

pulling the fender is when you force the metal to flare / move outward. use a heatgun / torch and a fender roller and pull it to your hearts content. use lots of heat so your fenders don't buckle like mine.

i did all 4. needed to fit 17x9 +15 all around. the sheetmetal on the front fenders is really flimsy so you can't really pull it much. rears you can get a lot if you don't mind doing some body work afterwards. like smoothing etc.

no direct pics of my fenders, but you can kind of see the dents in some of my pics here;http://www.sillbeer.com/my240SX.php

thanks for the pics...w/ 17x9 +15 all around, you had to pull the fenders, instead of rolling them to clear? in some pics in the front seem to have quite a few noticeable ripples...what did you use to pull the fenders?

my friends shop will be getting the tool to roll the fenders and i have access to a heat gun, but damn i hope i don't need to get my fenders pulled professionally..=( because i will if i have to

hahaha. my front fenders are trash because i like to hit walls on my competition runs in vegas. they were trashed before i rolled and pulled them. plus i bent both the support brackets on the fenders, so yeah, they're crap.

i don't like to run tons of camber to get wheels to clear. i run -2.5 front -1.75 rear, so i had to pull the rears a lot to fit them without like -3 camber.

Ryan - Would those aftermarket fender braces (trinagle shaped) help in your case? I've seen them for sale, wondered what the benefit of them is.

I think those braces help increase torsional rigidity and reduces chassis flex. I think it would also help to minimize the effects of engine vibration on the body. I'm not an engineer so I don't know for sure, but I think the fender braces with a front strut bar would also act like a thicker sway bar.

I thought Nissan Performance Mag used them, I think they said that the front of our car is mostly held together by glue rather than welds. So that spot between the middle of the body and the engine bay has a tendency to flex. They said it helped keep the nose in.

It's about half way down. I know SPL sells them.

what they said.

it ends the life span of a major crumple zone right there, so I won't use it on the street. I don't have any chassis stiffening actually in my car. except for a FSTB.

once my car goes off road though, i'd use them.
