Need some help identifying some SR parts

I have what I believe to be a early red top SR that came in the car. I am in the process of making some upgrades and have a couple of questions.What is in the yellow circle? It looks like a oil catch can.....? Black Circle-Is this the EGR system? Did all SR's come with a EGR system? Mine does not have one and I can't find a place where it ever did. There is no fitting on the turbo elbo and the car has an aftermatket down pipe with no fitting. I would like to delete the catch can thing if possible to free up some room and I am just curious about the EGR.

AIV system. You can dump it and plug the hole if you're using the stock elbow

Which circle is the AIV system. I searched the topic and it would seem the black circle is the AIV. What is in the yellow circle? Anyone?

My cays stock elbo didn't have a bung for the AIV so is it fair to say it never had it?

yellow is the crankcase breather. leave that there.

Like he said, leave it there. Oil mist from the valves is sucked into this. Sme of it gets pulled back into the engine and burned through the hose connected to the intake tube. The item in the back allows for the collection of the vast majority of the oil and leads back to the oil pan. A lot of people attach a catch can to the front hose instead of the air intake.

Thank you both for your answers....I still have a question about the AIV thing or Black circle. Did all SR20's come with one? I ask because my cars factory turbo elbo had no provision for it only an o2 sensor bung. Or was it attached to the down pipe? Just curious if i ever had it on the motor.
