Can you take a picture of said "false wall"? If it's what I think it is you're a perfect candidate for an aperiodic mat enclosure

WHat is on the other side of the wall? ANd is there an airway between the trunk and the passenger compartment. I mean a really large one.

Or is it possible for you to mount a sub in the wall and have it fire into the cabin?

He can do what you are doing for the Q45. Build a FG enclosure in the passenger-side corner of the trunk. An 8" sub should work just fine there without using too much space.

I posted that above. Top motor, battery and basstube. Totally full.

Right behind the "wall" is an 8" step-up that really cramps it in there. That's the top well, where the fabric top folds in. There's a good "airway" into the cabin, as the bulkhead between the space (with battery, tube and topmotor) has a big opening in it (that's what the back of the rear seat attaches to).

Putting a sub in the trunk is out of the question. One side has the CD changer, and the other side is crowded by the top mechanism.

Also, if the sub was in the corner of the trunk / spare tire well, I'd have to move the amp wall (since it'd block the sound waves from entering the interior).

I'm considering going with a Basslink, but I think it's too big.

The 'vert doesn't have a back seat does it? And if not is there ANY space between the seats and the divider? I mean is there like 1/2 an inch?

If so, from what you said, you "may" be able to mount a 12in driver in the divider and build an aperiodic mat enclosure for it(just large enough to fit the driver in). This would take up extremely little space, and NO trunk space at all.

Is there anyway that you can take a picture of what's behind the wall? I know you've said what's dehind it, but I need a visual to see if what I recommended can be done.

I see what you mean.... Next time I have the rear seat out I'll look (it's a PITA to remove).

I'm interested in learning more about this type of enclosure that requires less interior volume....

Sorry, it's really 2 different topics. The first is about the A-Periodic mats (PMQ referenced). The second is about unique box designs that should allow you to use 2 drivers in the space of 1.
