I have a 90 S13 with all stock suspension. I dont really have the money to put into a coilover system except maybe the Tein Basic, but if I spen that much I would just go with the Superstreet. Im going to buy the KYB AGX struts and then I was going to get the Sportline springs but I hear they are crap and the front sits higher than the back does. I couldnt really find any springs that sit lower (which is what I want).

Before everyone starts to flame on you for not searching I'll tell you, do some research with the search button. This topic has been beaten in more than a dirty whore.

As far as a spring/shock setup alot of people run Tein S-techs with the KYB AGX's on S13's or if you want a bit of a stiffer spring you can try the RSR's.

But reasearch on both of the springs to see what fits your needs better

Yea I know about the search button. Ive been on Honda-Tech for about a year now. I just cant seem to find on here any springs that lower the S13 alot. The S techs sit higher than the sportlines. I think im just going to get some Superstreets because there isnt very many springs that lower it that much. Like for Hondas you can slam your car with springs or just barely lower it.

Yeah I used to own a honda back in the days that was slammed. I guess nissan guys dont really like lowering there cars that much. I find it to look kinda awkward when its lowered so much plus you lose alot of suspension travel. me personally, I wouldnt slam it unless I had big jdm tyte wheels and some aero

S13 front suspension doesn't have a lot of travel to begin with, which is why you don't see many springs that lower the car a lot. I can't think of a decent spring that is any lower than the Sportlines, and they're really too low.

Well, the RSR springs I believe will be even lower than the Sportlines... how do i know? A handy dandy . I searched a while back, so I don't remember the exact phrases, but yes it's all there. Even so, it is only another quarter inch at most.

The Megan Springs will go even lower, but again, not that much lower.

If you go w/ rsr or megan springs, don't get agx - agx can barely handle sportlines as it is - get koni yellow inserts or something.

Next, why do you want the car so low? If it's just for looks, you can cut springs (bad idea, but hey, you want low). Or get a body kit that will make it look lower, or larger tires to fill up the wheel wheel or smaller tires to make the body go lower to the ground - so many choices.

Otherwise, the best you will get is adjustable coilovers - and ksports are only a tad more expensive than sportlines + agx. For the price, ksports can't really be beat. Megans are only 850 shipped now, super cheap.

When you say AGX's can't handle RS-R or MR springs are you referring only to the drop? ...or spring rate?

I meant spring rate more than anything. - Although the warranty for AGX is void if you get anything that drops more than 1.5" - says so in the fine print warranty paper .

For the sportlines, which are the "softest" of these 2"+ lowering springs, the agx is already slightly under dampened even @ max dampning setting in the rear.

For me, daily driving, it was perfectly acceptable. However, the track guys didn't like it so much, especially once you start stepping up to even more aggressive spring rates like rsr, megans, and ground control sleeves. The fix that a lot of these guys do is just swap the rears for koni yellow inserts.

One last question (I think...)What spring rate would you say is the limit for the AGX's then?I can find the spring rates on the RS-R's but not the Sportlines.

***EDIT*** --- Pwned by the FAQ

...with that said I think you're saying that the combo of spring rate and drop is what is causing the AGX's to be under-damped, because the Sportlines' spring rate is not much harder than stock. Guess I'm gonna try the AGX's I just bought with a set of Ti2000's and see how I like it. If I have to switch to the yellows oh well.

Yea, to me atleast I feel like the 240 sits like a truck. I feel it sits way to high. I guess you cant lower them that much though for street use? This is kind of a weirdish set up. Its my Daily Driver but I wanna slide around a couple corners here and there, and im for sure going to hit the strip in it. I know you cant have a perfect suspension for a daily driver, drift(?), and a strip car. So im just trying to get a good setup. How low can you go with a 240 as far as a pretty good suspension travel goes? I guess I should of searched a bit more.
