Im looking to get a custom exhaust made just using a magnaflow magnapack round muffler to have it close to what the artisan is for less than half the price but I need a good pic of the underside of someones car to see where they place the muffler they use in their system. If anyone can help me, Id appreciate it. Thanks again

See thats what I thought from looking at the same picture you posted here that I got from the website. There is another posting on this forum that says something about artisan using the magnaflow magnapack in their exhaust though. If it is a straight pipe how is it street legal, that would be my next question. Thanks for the feedback

It is a straight pipe from what you see in the picture, but I believe there is a muffler right before it.

Thats what I was thinking. I appreciate the feedback. A artisan exhaust owner already clarified with me through pm how the exhaust looks and how it is built. Im just debating on whether or not to get the exhaust shop to build me a artisan replica or a magnaflow system replica with 2.5 inch piping using 2 magnapacks on the rear like the 2.5L system has. Im gonna talk to the shop and see what he thinks. I want something that sounds really good but I dont like super loud exhaust. The car already sounds good with the intake etc and I plan on getting the y-pipe even with all the post about noises and leaks etc. I plan on just taking it into the shop and having them weld exhaust donuts on it like someone else did on here and then I found a exhaust gasket that will match up perfectly so wont be using any high temp stuff. Thanks again for all the feedback.

ROFL, I'm the guy with the exhaust "donuts" put on the Y-pipe. ;) Yeah sounds like you got a good plan there. Yah you can reuse the copper gaskets from the stock Y-pipe, once you put the little 1/4" collars (donut holders ;) ) around the 2 forward ends of the Y-pipe kit. The alternative is to just slap on high temp sealant which you won't be using sounds like.

I think 2 mufflers would be quieter since you'll have twice the hush power :D over a single muffler like the Artisan.

Good luck!

CoupeVQ35CVT-How is yours doing so far with the donuts welded in there? Any complaints or leaks, wierd noises etc? Nothing makes me angrier than buying something that isnt quality and having to spend more money just to fix what should have been done correctly in the first place but thats the part where bargain comes into it and being that nobody else is making these for ours cars so far. Just let me know what you think about how yours is doing. Thanks man

Mine is holding up fine. I still need to figure out where this small rattle comes from when the car's idling, but it is from around the Y-pipe area. I was supposed to have them take a look at it when I went for an oil change but forgot, so next time around I'll make them check for any metal to metal clanking around the piping and body or something like that. I doubt it's a loose nut. There did seem to be this small amount of leak or sounds like it, a low hiss that just barely there when I turn off the car and the last bit of "puff" comes from the exhaust gases which is obvious around the same area below the car, was never there before (probably flex pipe since those aren't 100% airtight).
