1. Can you hear them ok? If so, you should try turning your radio down. They are hearing themselves being played through your sound system.bat_big wrote:I installed my AVIC Z2 this weekend and I am having a few issues that hopefully somebody can help me with.
1. When using Bluetooth, the people that are calling me can hear a repeat of what they are saying….an echo. I am guessing that the mic, which is installed in the overhead domelight housing…(I put it in place of the factory mic), is too sensitive and is picking up their voice and sending it back to them. they can hear me fine. Any suggestions on this?2. If I look at my phone when Bluetooth is enabled on the phone. I get a brief flash every few seconds….when watching it blink like 10 times, I can see it saying “please enter password for handsfree…” the only thing I can think of is that it is trying to connect to the factory Bluetooth in the car. Is there any way to remedy this?3. My airbag light on the dash is blinking since the install. Any suggestions?
Yes i can hear them fine. i have tried to turn it down with no luck. even when using the voice commands, (radio sounds are at a minimum), it picks this up too. i am guess that the mic is just that sensitive. i hate to have to relocate it as it is a stealth install, but unless someone has any suggestions it looks like i will have to.AppleBonker wrote:

Thanks, i will research this and see what i can come up with.AppleBonker wrote:3. You just need to reset the light. There's gotta be a thread on here somewhere if you search for it. I know it requires turning the car on and off in a specific time frame, but I don't remember exactly. There isn't anything wrong with your airbags. Also, I think the light only goes on like that if the battery is connected while the airbags are disconnected (IE, the plug for the pasenger air bag light near the center air vents), although I could be wrong about this.
1. I agree with what Apple saidbat_big wrote:I installed my AVIC Z2 this weekend and I am having a few issues that hopefully somebody can help me with.

i don't understand how you can agree with what apple said. this is not the fix as even when using voice commands the stereo goes to a level that i can barely hear and it still picks it up. is the mic just that sensitive?rjdmmfl1 wrote:

I don't think there's a way to adjust the volume on the mic... I'm sorry, I don't know what to do about this onebat_big wrote:

PAC SWI-X would allow use of the steering wheel controls.rjdmmfl1 wrote:2. I had this same problem, but then I replaced my phone, so I didn't have to go through this anymore.. Hmm, you can't disconnect the factory bluetooth module because your steering wheel controls wiull no longer work with the PAC-unit.
Actually, to be more specific, since he has a Pioneer Avic Z2, the PAC-SWI-PS would allow retention of steering wheel controls, the SWI-X is their generic unit for use with decks not specifically covered by the JACK, PS, etc. One issue he's having is with his factory bluetooth trying to connect to his phone. The point I was trying to make is that disconnecting the factory bluetooth will solve that problem, HOWEVER, if you disconnect the factory bluetooth, the PAC-SWI units WILL NOT work, the PAC wiring REQUIRES the factory bluetooth unit to still be intact!audtatious wrote:

True story. I found that out the hard way when I removed the bluetooth module. I couldn't figure out what went wrong. I thought the PAC lost its programming since the battery was disconnected (but I decided that would be stupid since the battery gets disconnected all the time - PAC audio wouldn't do this). So, I plugged the bluetooth module back in and everything worked. Once I get my bluetooth up and running, I'll check to see if there is a workaround for this.rjdmmfl1 wrote:

Yeah, I'm not too sure about this since I don't have my bluetooth up and running yet. I'm going to try to figure out a way to use the factory mic, so maybe that will make a difference? If so, keep an eye out for a how-to article on doing this. Hopefully it'll work out.bat_big wrote:
