Well it was kinda cold this morning. I get off work and let the car warm up for about 5 min. I shift into R and back up shift into D and drive off like any other day. well I noticed My car Revved up to 3000 before moving and stayed there during shifts and after. Not sure whats going on. I dont know if it could have anything to do with gas i know some cars run very bad with little gas. Before when I had around 1/4th of a tank left it started. Just not as bad. now I have 1/8th of a tank left and its even worse. I am going ot let it cool, wake up and go fill the tank up. see if it runs any better.

dont think gas has anything to do with it. but... never know now days.. It drives like a kid thats learning how to drive stick.

but what does it sound like is going on? Time for Auto > Manual swap?

Its your transmission saying it doesnt like the cold weather. Your fluid got hot, and the problem went away right? Have you recently flushed/filled your fluid? You might need to do that before the winter hits hard.

I took it to a not so smart mechanic and he said I have about a month left to go before it dies. He says "You transmission fluid is getting burnt so the whole transmission looks like its going to need replaced" "I can get 2 months if I baby it." So not sure. I drive it with OD off from now on because he said that it does not slip as much. but its starting to slip. I will have the fluid flushed and filled, then if that dont work I will take it to a transmission shop because I was reading the SEARCH and alot of people who had my problem had a resinator or something like that burn out. and I did smell a burning kinda smell when I had my heater going. so. hopefully its something small like that. I will get this piggy back on the road no matter what.

Is the 89 Auto a Serviceable Transmission? I want to try to change my filter and fluid. Judging on how my oil looked my transmission filter cant look much better.
