Search and you'll find a billion posts about each engine's pros and cons. And, everyone has their own opinion. So, you need to form your own from research.

well it'll depend on what ur power goals are and how diligent of a shopper u are along with maybe if u know anyone that can get u an SR. if ur looking for some more hp than a stock 240, both routes will get u to where u want. obviously it depends on what u want the car to do power wise and of course how deep ur wallet is. i will say that u should just keep an eye on all the threads that come thru this section and the sr section so as to gauge what u want. u said u had an sr already so what made it blow? also are u mechanically inclined? if so, then u shouldnt have any issues with a ka-t project given u have the right components. hope this helps

the total cost will vary from setup to setup. if ur looking for a kit, by far IAP is a great kit to start with. the only thing u would need is bigger injectors and an SAFC and u would be nearing the 300whp mark safely pending on what ur timing is at. if ur looking to piece together a kit, thats a whole different story. research on what mani u want; this will be the biggest decision IMO. the turbo usually seems to be a t3/t4oe 50 trim and a .63 a/r exhaust housing. unless ur picky about when ur turbo spools, that is usually the suggested turbo.
