need some advise

ok so my upper oil pan is leaking, so im planning on removing it to check the problem, i searched and read that the engine will need to be lifted, but i dont want to remove the engine, dose any1 that has done this before have a write up or any tips/advise that would make the job easier?

and please if all you are going to post is " fsm", or "search" please dont post because i already did search so please just let some1 who is acually gonna help me post.

unbolt the motor mounts.. unhook you ic pipes and lift the motor up about two to three inch'sare you sure its the oil pan leaking? chances are its the front or rear main seal leaing...

yea its the upper oil pani have thoses rubber ramps u drive your car on and a regular jack...where would i go about use as a lift point for the engine?

Seriously use the FSM for the jack points. I would just drive up the ramps though if I were you. For me it makes things easier.

iam gonna use the ramps, but i need to use the jack to lift the engine about 3 inches, wheres a good spot to lift engine, transmission bellhousing?

Idk about usin a jack to lift the motor, you might want to rent an engine hoist.

I know they used to. Call all the part stores and ask. You can get one for around 160 bucks. also try some other equipment rental places. gl

I typically throw the car on the lift (jackstands will work), support the engine with a cradle from the top and just drop the crossmember. It's a bit of work but makes servicing the pan a much easier process.
