Okay this is the situation... I bought my 92 Convertible, and as we all know, they only came in an automatic... now I did the 5-speed conversion... but the idiots who did it didn't do it right, the top wont go up, (I need to connect some wires to make the car think its in park), the cars running on the computer for an automatic, and the trans sounds horrible, makes all kinds of noises, now im thinking... **** it I might as well go ahead and get the entire ACT clutch system.... sure no problem another 500 bucks added to the 1200 i spent to do the swap... then if i do get the ACT I need to replace the engine mounts, so **** it, while its in the shop I might as well change that annoying rattling timing chain, well.... whats the point of taking all this time, and about 2 grand to make the car run fine, and remain stock... now... I can come up with the money no problem.. but I figure, I can count my losses, throw all that money into a fairly new Black top SR20DET I can get the motor very cheap from this importer im really cool with.. its in my best interest to get the SR because its comes with a newer motor (VS my 175k miles) and the 5 speed.. BUT this car is my daily driver... and although I barely ever take any long trips... I am afraid that if I need something for the SR... im going to have to wait a LONG time to get the parts I need from Japan... even 2 weeks is a long time without a car (especially in Houston because they havent discovered the "bus" yet....) So im running around in circles within my mind... please someone give me some input... every respond will be taken into SERIOUS consideration.... thanx

Most of the SR parts are interchangeable between cars, http://www.az240sx.org/faq.html has a brief list of interchangeable parts.

The ones that aren't can be easily sourced from a vendor. I would get them ahead of time to prevent downtime, like for instance a timing belt/water pump kit or 60k/120k miles maintainence kits.

I wouldn't waste any more $ into make the car more stock.

Hey, hold out for a SR20VET

Ok one guys opinion, go for the Blacktop SR if you need to do that much engine work.
