I'd say buy the TT and fix up your NA so it runs well then sell it. You're not going to get any kind of decent money for a car that's on the gimp.

alot of miles and on an na that isnt running too well... 2000 would be lucky for you. parting out the car wouldnt do you much good either because most likely it would take you too long to sell enough parts to get the money you need. how long is the offer for this tt going to stand because i seriously doubt,if its that good an offer, that you'll have time to do much saving be4 the car is gone. i say get a job work and save some money and keep looking.

well i do know that the knock sensor is retarding the engine and the previous owner said its run this way since he got it. the engine sounds like there is a miss. and it smells like its running really rich.i really want a tt but i still think it would be best if i wait another year before i get a car with that much power.

If the knock sensor is bad the ecu will go to a default fuel map, which runs rich to stop knocking. Check the ecu for trouble codes and check for fouled plugs. Clean the car up a little and you'll probably get what you want for it.
