ok, well i recently fryied my rings, and i got the engine torn apart, so i want to know what will happen if if i just got new rings without honing my head, and the crosshatching and stuff, or if you absolutley have to, how much does it cost. thanks alot.

Without honing, the rings will never seal, and you'll have terrible blow-by and burn lots of oil.

Edit: I'd say around $50 to re-hone a block.
