So I park my car in my driveway and I hop out. I start to smell gas so I walk around to the passenger side and the smell gets even stronger. So I'm thinking if there is a leak, it would end up on my driveway. Sure enough it did not too much though. So I decide that I want to change the entire tank since it looks kinda beaten up anyway and I take a look underneath. and this is what I see.

The straps that hold the tank underneath the car are rusted as hell.. So if I remove it chances are those bolts will snap and probably the bracket too. So my question is. What do I do? Do new straps come with new brackets too? And if not when I end up unintentionally breaking the bracket how do I get the new tank to stay? Im sure they must be made somewhere but I havent seen them Sorry for the huge write up. Just a noob needing some advice

Damn those do look pretty nasty,

Or could try a junkyard around you for something used.

Get new straps, tank looks okay still. When you take out the tank replace the fuel hosing and maybe even the filler tube. Then when it goes back its all new.

My friends tank leaked real bad last year. The lines got corroded and were falling apart. It was pretty awful.
