Hey Guys and Gals

I am about to install a remote stater/ alarm on my pathy and I am stuck between these three systems

1. Clifford Matrix 50.5: http://www.clifford.com/Produc...D=701

2. Astrostart RSS 5224: http://www.astroflex.com/index...ge=21

3. Compustart Pro 2W9000FM/As: http://www.number1sound.com/description_813.html - I could not find the unit on the manufacturers site, it was not loading

Just overall reviews from anyone who has used any of these units, any pros or cons that they encountered, which do you recommend, price, etc, etc

Thanks!

Also, if I have a bypass module installed already, would I need to replace it if I go with a different unit?

Last I knew the clifford units only came with one remote. Good solid unit. The Compustar ones are supposed to be good but I don't have any first hand experience, I have heard that the screens are easy to break though. Don't know much about the astrostart unit. We sold them where I used to work before I was there and I never really saw any come back with problems so I guess that is a good thing.

You will be able to use the same bypass.

Don't know if that helps or not but I guess it's something at least.

The Clifford unit is already being replaced with something better. I have the new Viper versions of it in stock just as of last week..... they are the nicest units I have laid my hands on in the 16 years I have been installing. Directed Electronics makes all of the Clifford, Viper, Astrostart and many, many more..... so a lot of it is just the same stuff with a different name and different package. Viper is their flagship product.

You can check out the Viper versions here,

Yeah we just got those in like 2 months ago at work and man those are nice. I've only gotten to install like 3 of them but they seem solid, and i love the remotes. Still kind of iffy on the "virtual tach" thing though. I still hooked it up regardless. Kind of nice they support manual transmissions now as well.

Braodfield and zeredivad, are you guys talking about this one: http://www.clifford.com/Produc...D=721

The viper and clifford remotes looks the same, cept the clifford has a black carbon fibre design.

Are there any problems with cliffords in general, something I should look out for?

Nope no worries, they are just rebadged vipers. I never did like the remotes though as they always broke, so maybe the newer stuff that broadfield has is using a better remote design?
