Need some advice/help

Hey everyone, Im a new member to this site and a new owner of a 2006 g35 coupe. Ive only had it about a month now and just recently it started making a ticking noise under the hood, sounding like it was coming from the timing belt and radiating off the engine near the valves. I dont have much experience fixing cars and whatnot so i was wondering if anyone has had this problem before and if they know what it is or anything to worry about. How often do you check/change your oil and when was it last changed/miles?

How many miles are on your G?

Hey thank you. I checked my oil recently and there was plenty. I havent had to change it yet since I've only had it about a month and there are 84k miles on it.

I would change it immediately since you don't know how long the oil has been in the vehicle, the type of oil, or how often previous owners have changed it.
Two weeks ago I traded in my 06 G35 Sedan with 171796 miles on it. I did 53 oil changes, 48 of them myself and never had any engine issues that you are describing.
Always used SAE 5w-30 whatever was on sale

It said in the service records it was changed at 82,000 so it's been about 2,000 miles but I'm not sure what kind of oil is in there you're right. Could that be the problem or could there be something else? And what kind of car did you trade it in for?
