So, here is my situation:
I have a '90 240sx I recently put a new(er) ka24e in. It runs well, but has started to produce quite a bit of blue smoke recently, up around 4-6k rpm.I compression tested it, and got what seems about average: 150ish psi across all 4 cylinders dry, almost no change (maybe 2-3 psi) wet.
This leads me to believe it could be my valve oil seals? The engine may have been sitting before I bought it. Should I do a leakdown test?(not sure how to go about this)
For anyone who has done valve seals before, any tips? so far what I've figured out I need to do:
1) remove rocker arm/camshaft assembly and sparkplugs2) hook up cylinders to compressed air source to prevent valve from dropping down into head3) remove valve spring4) pull out valve stem seal/guides and replace with new ones5) repeat then reassemble
Any opinions/help? Thanks
