Hi guys, im new to the forums, i have read all the d3 install directions, but still a little confused.

I have a/c with bose but no navigation

Im trying to install this car pc :

This is the back of the bose system in the a/c:

So i ordered these two converters/harnesses so far:

http://cgi.ebay.com/2007-2008-...wItem

I dont need the steering controls

My question is do i need to order anything else ?

And what are the two wiring harnesses in the middle for in my original bose a/c ?

I'm not sure how much help I will be but i'll try.

I used the FAI-3A to install my Z2, and it works perfect. I was amazed by the improved quality in the sound. I think the SLC-4 is the same thing. Anyways, you can pick up the FAI-3A at your nearest Wall mart for 20 bucks.

I'm not 100% sure what the CDC is, but by judging by the plug it looks like it is the place where you would hook up an extra screen.

Those "audio looking wires" are not needed so don't worry about them.

The red wire where it says "12v" close to your left hand is the power wire.

In order to get the bluetooth to work you probably need to order a special component for that.

LOC - fai - 3araido stereo wiring harness - the ebay oneantena wiring harness - the ebay one

what did you do with the wires that were suppose to fit in the "handsfree"

i figured out the audio video red/white/yellow input/output wires in PIC3 are for PRE AMP/Digital 4x50W Amplifier with RCA Pre-amp Outputs for connecting to an amplifier and more. so since i am not installing any extra amps do i need to worry about these ? or do i need to get some converter to connect these to my current factory bose amp ?

No, you don't need any extra converter nor do you need to worry about those wires. The amp you are gonna use is the FAI with the wiring harness you ordered to connect it to the carputer.

thanks a bunch for helping me

so i finally got the two wires i ordered from ebay

i still havnt got the line of control FAI wire, i will later today

so i hooked up the two wires, the carputer turns on and everything

but there is no sound at all what so ever (

the wires are colored matched so no problem there, hooked up fine

so is this because i havnt hooked up the Line Of Control FAI wire yet ??

or is it something else ??

so once i get the FAI LOC hooked up correctly, the sound should be working fine ??

thanks again guys

i figured out that the SLOT 2 wire on the far right is for the control of bluetooth, u guys know what is the other wire harness for ? the one in the middle ? for sat radio ?

my phone still seems to connect to the bluetooth even tho the bose system is completely unplugged

anyone know if there is a wiring harness to use the MIC that is in my car already to plug that into the carputer ? would PAC SWI wiring harness do the trick ??

or am i better of jus buying a new MIC for the carputer ?
