That's because there were so few imported. Get stock form Joe or pony up some more bucks and get a set of the KYB SR Special Blues from Japan.

Welcome to our humble club, but please try searching (there is a tutorial on it) before postsing as you will find answers and indepth discussions more quickly. This topic has been covered several times, even recently.

If your not looking for much performance but to reduce the bouncing, then new struts all the way around from Joe will be the way to go!

Welcome, another Y33 member. I have a 97' and it was a long ride to get an upgraded set if shocks and springs, I was not going for stock again. Falkdesigns (look for his posts) can score you Tein springs, he got them for me, luckily he's in LA and my parents live there so I go them from him on a trip down there, but he's cool and ships. They are under 300 bucks last time I checked, Kevin will check in.

The shocks/dampers are harder to get. I found a set through Onetongarage who is lurking out there too. He's got some connections in Japan for KYB SR Specials as described eariler, but they are expensive (around 700 bucks). If you have a plan to keep this car for awhile I would say it was totally worth it. The SR Specials are the best upgrade I've ever experienced in a car, I have added KYB's and Koni's to past cars and it didn't result in this big of an improvement. The Tein springs really lower the car, I love the way it rides and looks but speed bumps are a bit more scary and I have to drive into my own driveway a little slower now, but if I had to do it again, I'd have done it. The car handles now like night and day compared to 85k worn out stock.

Stock replacements would be an improvement, but if you want the car to really handle you need to do this, about 3 months to get it all done and a grand later you'll be set.

Actually, after you get the rubber parts that need to be replaced, a little over $1200 without labor.

Probably right, actually after I posted this I added up my full damage report....$260 for springs, $650 for shocks, $30 in rubber, $300 for installation, total $1240, I was lucky I picked up both springs and shocks locally (Falk in LA and Onetongarage in Santa Clara) so no shipping. Plus my LA-based mechanic I thought gave me a nice deal at $300 for install.

Totally worth it, if you decide to do it feel free to e-mail me directly and I will give you the exact contact info for everyone...
