I really need some serious help with this....ok, this is what happened... The EFI harness fell onto my exhast manifold awhile back, causing about 8 wires to melt together (B, Y, Y/W, R/G, L/G, L/0R, LG/B, and B/Y)...I then proceeded to check my ECU, i opened it up and there were two fried transistors...i then checked my Fuse block ( the one by the battery) and the relay, EGI, was melted...the wires in there are (R, R, R/B, and B/W). I then noticed that one of the wires (B/W...ECU power) that i used to connect E9 to F8 was totatlly burnt ( I had to run wiring from the Ca EFI harness to the Ka main harness for the swap) I also noticed that the wire for the ignition power and the coil pack power (B/R, L/R...F8-E9) had also had some contact with the B/W wire. Now here i am, i fixed all the wires that landed on the exhast manifold, I re-pinned the EGI Relay, bought a new ecu and hooked it up, replaced all the wiring between the Ca and Ka harness...I still have no spark on any coil pack, and the wires to the EGI relay get extremely hot when i put the battery terminal on and try to crank it. I have a feeling it could be the power transistor got fried, but would that cause the relay wires to heat up? Please, if anyone can help me here, I am in some great need of wisdom and assistance.

It's not much but off hand, it sounds like you have a bad ground. When I did my swap almost a year ago now, one problem I had with my wiring getting hot was I had a bad ground during my swap. After correcting that, things ran fine.

Hey There, Thanx for the reminder on the ground, there is one ground on the fuse block that came loose, but unfortuantly there is more too it. I pulled the EFI harness out, and I traced down the B/W wires, and unfortuantly there are three that run through the harness, pretty much all three heated up and melted some wires to them....So i am replacing all those wires, then going to put the harness back, and give it a try....If i still have no spark, then i am going to die...but i guess i will see.

Well i hooked everything up and its still not getting spark. At least now none of the wires are heating up and neither is my relay, which means i fixed the short... but now when i crank it, the tach doesn't move...any ideas, i read that this is because the power transistor is dead...is that tru? If anyone has any ideas, please post...i am all ears...thanx

Does the tach usually move when you crank the starter?

yes...even if it doesn't turn over, the tach will jump up and down a little when trying to crank if you have spark... thats why i beleive it's the power transistor, Plus in my first post i listed the wires fried, and one of them is to the Power Transistor (R/G)...but maybe i am bios in the situation...like i said, open to all suggestions, thanx...

get a new harness and ECU, they are floating all over ebay and users here have them.

That would be my reccomendation too. Talk to The Mad Scientist. He's in Japan Land and is a good guy to get stuff from. Also talk to Boost boy, he may have a spare too. This would save you a WHOLE lot of headache. And if you suspect the power transistor, then replace it and see what happens.

Hey there, Thanx for the ideas, actually i already ordered a power transistor, I am going to try that and see if i get anything. I have been pondering getting a whole new harness and doing it the way everyone else has...basically relocate the power transistor, and dropping resistor, and just extend the maf and compressor wires...much easier than what i did! I extended the whole harness, I wired mine like my japanese clip. Actually, I have been talking to the Mad Scientist on the side, he has been coaching me through most of this nightmare...But anyway, if anyone has a CA EFI HARNESS let me know what you can do for me. I already replaced the ecu so i am ok there... Thanx for the ideas everyone...i am still open to any more ideas, I will keep ya posted on how it goes when i get the power transistor. Thanx!
