Well,I just got my '98 sr20 installed. It works just fine but it won't stay on!! It idles for a couple of seconds and then it just shuts off, it is like the voltage drops all of a sudden. So i put a yellow top stinger that is bigger than stock in the trunk and that helped it stay on a little longer but something turns on after a little while and then the engine struggles to stay on as if the battery does not have enough juice to power it! CAN ANYONE HELP, PLEASE????

well the battery is not the problem i have a sr in a s13 and im using a lawn and garden battery!!!!!1

your problem maybe the alternator??????? that normally keeps the battery charged!!!!!!!

is the car idleing at 950rpms if not check for a vac leak sometimes that will cut your car off

do you have a mulitmeter??????? if not buy one

and if you can't use it call a buddy check to see if your alternater is cranking out power if not buy a new one

when your car is on check the battery if its under 12v your not charging

just a lil 411 maybe that will help

Thanks, yeah already checked the alternator and it's working just fine. Actually trouble shot this problem and realized that it is the relay for the power to the fuel pump. When it kicks in at idle it pulls to much voltage away from the car and does not stay on. I THOUGHT THIS WAS WIERD...but i do have alot of amps and other gadgets and the ignition switch to power on so i figure it is not getting enough juice. Thinking of running a direct lead to the battery on a switch or something along those lines. We will see...But if any one has any suggestion i'm all open to them

Double check your grounds. Since you have a battery relocation, your grounds might not be strong enough. The stock negative cable grounds to the chassis for a reason before it grounds to the manifold.

Remember, the battery is there to get your car started, not to run the motor. Once the car is off the starter and running, the battery takes a back seat and let's the altenator kick in.

Are you sure it has to do with electrical issues and not mechanical? Mine starts, than dies after a few seconds. I've heard it has to do with busted o-rings on the fuel injectors leaking fuel into the cyclinders.
