My block has stripped threads due to some kind of freak problem with ARP main studs. Need a replacement fast, before school starts.

ARP

Im pretty sure there is something wrong with ARP's torque specs. 80lbs? 20lbs more than stock? In a aluminum block?

I followed their directions exactly. WTF!

What about an easy out? Or a reverse thread remover? I've seen them on the Drift Tengokus going through this topic.

I've already have had helicoils installed and they didnt hold. Only thing left to do now is find another block or install Timeserts. My Machinist said it would be close to $600 for the parts and labor to install them. I could also wait until school starts back up and install the Timeserts myself and cut the cost in half. Not sure its worth it. I should of spent the extra money for the Greddy main studs instead of these poorly designed ARP P.O.S's

YOU DO NOT TQ THE STUD ONLY THE NUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Only hand tight on the stud into the block. We use the ARP kit all the time on hunderds of motors with no problem...
