there's no special oil for the rb motors. just use the standard or synthetic 10w30 or 5w30, etc, it's personal preferences... if you can spend $ for synthetic, then do so. you may want thicker oil for older engines.

for gear oil, i'm using Redline shockproof. Redline MT90 is good too. a more accessible alternative you can get at the local store is Pennzoil Synchromesh--good stuff...

I run nothing but Mobil 1, 15w50 or 20w50, and the trans I run BG full synthetic 80-140.

Whats the difference? LOL Mobil1 and Valvoline synthetic are both made out of a group III stock... Not dissing on mobil its a great oil(or well was), but when a company changes from a group IV to a group III and still charges the same price, well umm do i need to say more?

amsoil FTW

i think redline 10w30 is in my car right now. interesting this topic came up, im trying to decide on the oil i will use. its just about time for my first oil change. ive always used penzoil 10w30 dyno oil in all my other cars. now i have a car with synthetic in it. think im going to stick with this redline crap, or try out elf oils. 10w30 if they have it. the thought of running thinner oils has always made me nervous for some reason. so i really dont want to run a 5w30.

oh, and it just dawned on me. i have no idea how much oil a 25 takes? 4-4.5 quarts i would imagine?

Well it wasnt till last year that they switched from a group IV to a group III stock and still kept their prices the same I used to run Mobil in all my cars until this, and it was a great oil till now...(not saying its horrible, just not as good anymore)

I've been using Mobil 1 Synthecit 10w30 and Valvoline 75w90

Im fixing to switch to AMSOIL 10w30 as soon as my greddy oil cooler comes in and Redline shock proof lightweight for the transmission.

Well I'm not saying Valvoline is junk, I've been quite pleased, but next change it will be getting royal purple none-the-less.

how does everyone feel about me running royal purple 10w40 in my 25? im changing the oil tomorrow, and i think thats what im going to go with. im skeered of thin oil. theres a huge thread on our local forum of how much thinner mobile 1 is since they changed it. on NIASOC people are starting to spin bearings using M1. im not going to even try that crap, and i cant find redline or elf. so royal purple i think it is. oh yeah, how many quarts do i put in this pos? first oil change ftw!
