im trying to remove the inner side of the control arm to get to my cv axle, my sockets can fit the bolt, but the nut turns with the bolt, so i need to hold on to the other side too. However, none of my sockets fit the nut, the other side has 2 of those nuts too, does anybody know the specific size so i can go to home depot and get a 1/2 inch drive socket that will fit it?

edit----

in the FSM, the nuts are called the transverse link fixing nut

Can't remember exact size, but buy a set of 1/2" black high torque sockets. They are pre-packaged in a carrier with long and short sockets, a torque wrench would be advisable for installation. In a pinch the use of good quality locking pliers can be used for dismantling but some times it takes penetrating oil applied a few time, vibration to set up, tighten the fastener to verify movement and then turn off trying not to over torque the nut and bolt.

AutoZone or HomeDepot will have 22 and 23mm sockets - Go get those and return the one you don't need.

I believe it's 23mm.

as i do on other nissans, hondas, toyotas, etc.... instead unbolt the strut and let the hub assembly fall down bam pop the axle out.
