well, you have to check out the condition, brand, etc. Could be brand new, but if it's like an ebay turbo, it may only last 2 weeks.

Also, you may or may not want a t4 in the first place. Those are a lil big/laggy for a ka - of course, this all depends on your application.

Without knowing any info, since turbo, bov, intercooler can have any specs & be any brand, i'd give max 500... max.

You'd be WAY better off just saving up your money and getting a kit from one of nico sponsors which make everything a direct drop-in and you know you are getting a good setup.

"no thanks" on the 1k.

If you want info on specific kits and such, just browse thru this ka-t section.

The major sponsor look at the very first sticky on the this subforum (IAP Pricing...). There's also a lot of others, you just have to look & see - because all the possible kits are mentioned on this forum already somewhere.

just read thru the stickies, search, and read around.

I just went to their website (xs-engineering.com)and it looks like that it is a good deal for their products. I think their cheapest intercooler is $995.But, I know for a fact you can get a turbo, intercooler and BOV for far less than $1000. You may want to shop around first.

i checked the site and yeah it seems like a very good deal but someone here just mentioned reliability...how reliable are these turbos? but price seems good..i know i'll need the boost controller, some piping, headers and other stuff so i may just take this for now and then get other stuff. i'll keep looking before i do just like you mentioned and see if i can find the same set up for less..thanks again guys for spareing me some abuse for being a noobie and asking these questions

reliability:

Ok, XS Engineering is good. They are very very very well known in the Subaru tuning world. They don't sell cheap China made crap. That is some other __ Engineering. When you said SX Engineering, you confused everyone - I think ppl are thinking XY or YZ Turbo, etc.

XS Engineering sells solid stuff - equivalent to our well respected IAP if you will.

However, I still stand by the decision that you can get a better deal for stuff just as good made for 240's in the long run.

1k for everything, but you will be missing about another 1k-2k worth of stuff to complete your setup + headaches of finding specific things... and from your situation of a lot of other things in your life, not knowing much about building up your own kit for the 240, it's much smarter to start off w/ a kit that is "bolt-in" so to speak.

cool so its relaible but there are cheaper kits out there...thanks for the help..i will do some more shopping around for now...i just looked at a few sites here and did some looking around..next step is to actually call the places up and ask questions too. the only thing that was tempting me to get the xs turbo was he was willing to take payments from me which would perfectly for me thanks again for the help and if anyone has specific company suggestions that would be great and is it wrong that the last thing i think about before falling asleep is what to buy for my 240 and imagine what it would look like if i had 5,000 to spare?

Cheapest kit. For say 7-8lbs of boostRevhard mani,New turbo with internal wastagte, Johhny racer FMIC or SMIC from our classifieds, Bv you pick. Set of 370cc injectors, fuel pump. Then either go to dyno to tune or get safc and wideband. So If you plan to upgrade you can tune yourself.
